The right applicant will be confident with excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team. We have cert holders in behaviour, dermatology, surgery, diagnostic imaging & vets working towards internal medicine, emergency medicine & dentistry certificates. We have 20-25 Vets across 5 small animal surgeries with approximately double that number of Nurses. We have several certificate holders across the group. Although we are part of IVC, our own Clinical Directors are responsible for making all local management decisions. We are a friendly team with a very low turnover of vets. We have excellent 24-hour nursing care at our Lostwithiel Hospital and pride ourselves on offering a high standard of patient and client care. Two of our surgeries have ISFM silver cat friendly status and all our surgeries have General Practice RCVS Practice Standards status. We have five small animal surgeries and a large animal department. We are a large practice situated in beautiful mid Cornwall, close to the Eden Project with plenty of beautiful beaches and coastline nearby. The salary for this role is up to £55,000 depending on experience. No overnight on-call (in patient cover only). Rota: FTE: 4 days a week with 1 weekend of dayshifts in 10 plus 1 Sat morning in 10. Opportunity to develop your own interests and scope to introduce other services.Support from an RVN working towards level 5 behaviour qualification to help with follow-up.Time to take on your own cases with support available if needed.We have an admin team to deal with referrals, answer phones and book calls.Triage phone calls – giving initial advice and booking full assessments.You would be working alongside our Veterinary Behaviourist (RCVS advanced practitioner and CCAB for both dogs and cats) with full support and encouragement to achieve CCAB and then work with them to develop the behaviour referral side of the practice ( You would be part of a small friendly team working within a supportive small animal practice in rural Cornwall. Here at Kernow Group Pelyn Vets, we are looking for a small animal Veterinary Surgeon with some experience who would like to continue developing their first opinion work alongside developing their interest in behaviour to help expand our behavioural referral service.
